HighReach, ASL, Muzzy, Bright Babies....
Here at Elite Kids Learning Academy, we use many different parts of different Educational Programs. By using different programs and renewed resources, we are able to incorporate different ideas and materials.
Our primary educational programs are the HighReach Learning Program and the Muzzy Early Advantage Progam. You can find more information and links about both throughout our site.
Our ASL (Sign Language) Program has been with us from the beginning, 18 years. I have always believed that children love to learn, and since they can't communicate as easily as older children, learning sign language allows parent and child to communicate with one another. This tool shows you pictures and includes directions and tips to make it all very easy to learn. Very cool.
All of Classrooms are on the same theme at the same time. Children’s Curriculum will include ASL and Spanish. Each classroom will learn between 3 to 10 signs/words per month, dependent on the age group. Families with children in several classes will be able to share their knowledge in Signs, Songs, and Spanish. This creates such great self esteem with children, building great family bonding. The older children will gain self esteem and independence while working with the younger children. The younger ones will glow having that support and attention from their older siblings. All HighReach Learning curriculum programs are based on the philosophy that children learn best through hands-on activities that address the needs of the whole child. In addition, each HighReach Learning program reflects the belief that children need a balance of child-initiated and teacher-facilitated activities each day. This approach reflects the beliefs of Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, Lev Vygotsky, David Ausubel, and Jerome Bruner. This approach is grounded in sound child development theory and appropriate practices. Themes are used to introduce information and learning takes place as a child explores and manipulates real objects and events.Sharon Mayberry, BS, M.Ed. and Kathy Kelley, BS founded HighReach Learning in 1986. As owners and operators of their own child development centers, Ms. Mayberry and Ms. Kelley found that locating quality-teaching materials was quite a challenge. To give their parents, teachers, and children the careful guidance and creative focus they were after, they knew they would need to write their own curriculum program. And so the process began.

Created by the BBC, the acclaimed MUZZY language learning courses target a child's “window of opportunity” to learn a second or even a third language. The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is one of the most respected creators and producers of broadcast programming in the world. By virtue of its broad reach and excellent programming, the BBC's reputation as a teacher of language is unparalleled. Its most famous language program, Follow Me, (also known as BBC English), is the most popular language course for adults ever created. MUZZY, is similarly, the most popular language learning program ever created for children. MUZZY has been used in national curriculum (for example, in Canada and France), in forward-looking public and private schools from Thailand to Turkey and in homes from the U.S. and U.K. to Mexico and Japan.
Here at Elite Kids Learning Academy, we have been using the Muzzy Spanish and French programs for more than 10 years now and our children have loved every part of the curriculum. Our Toddler classrooms start at the program and continue through Kindergarten.
